Welcome to the Newhouse Program &
Architecture Competition!
Show off your skills!
Let the world see what you can design!
Registration for the Newhouse Architecture Competition is
now open!
What is the Newhouse Architecture Competition?
The Newhouse Architecture Competition is a judged competition
and exhibition of work, such as technical drawings, models
and original designs, by Chicago public high school students.
For 28 years, CPS students have been entering Newhouse and
winning the support and admiration of Chicago’s architecture
community.
Who can participate?
If you are a student in a Chicago public high school, you
are eligible to participate in the prestigious Newhouse Architecture
Competition.
How do I get started?
Choose one of the projects listed
on this site, complete a registration form by March 12th and
turn your project in to the Chicago Architecture Foundation
by May 14th. Your work will be judged
by professional architects and put on display for public viewing.
What’s in it for me?
Through the competition, you will have a chance to show off
your skills to an audience that includes professional architects
and engineers, as well as students, teachers, and parents.
If you are awarded a prize, you will be eligible to apply
for paid summer internships
or a Taliesin apprenticeship.
This is the competition that could change your life. If you
think you’ve got what it takes, show your stuff this
spring!
Get started!
We look forward to seeing your projects in May! Until then,
if you have any questions, call the Chicago Architecture Foundation:
(312) 922-3432 x237.
Good luck!
